In the wild, land tortoises consume a large variety of foods. Trying to mimic this diet with grocery store produce is difficult and risky. Tortoise Monster Diet™ is a vegetable protein based diet for herbivorous species of land tortoises such as African Spur Thigh (Sulcatas), Red-Foot, Yellow-Foot, Leopard, Russian, Gopher and Pancake. This diet uses high quality protein and fiber sources blended with natural ingredients such as carrot, celery, beet, parsley, lettuce, and watercress along with the optimum levels of vitamins and minerals to promote maximum growth, proper shell development and longevity in captive tortoises.
Feeding Directions:
Tortoise Monster Diet™ should be fed free choice as the total diet. All uneaten food should be removed daily. Always make all diet changes gradually over the course of several days. Tortoises will learn to eat from dishes if initially mixed with green vegetables. Fresh green leaves and vegetables may be offered as an occasional treat but should constitute only a minor portion of the diet. Fresh clean water should be available at all times.
